Whether you’re into true-crime, drama, anime, supernatural series, or returning classics,Netflix’shighlights for the month include Adam Sandler’s return to the links, a different Sandman ringing in a second season, and Charlize Theron continuing to kick ass. Oh, and all theJawsmovies are coming to keep you well away from the water for the rest of the summer. Here’s everything arriving on Netflix in July, with a few highlights.

The Bride and Furiosa locked in a clinging, clanging, all-out, katana fight to the death?Oh, hell yes. If you were a fan of Netflix’s first go at Greg Rucka and illustrator Leandro Fernandez’s world of immortal warriors charged with protecting humanity, then you’re likely already champing at the bit to see Uma Thurman join the melee inThe Old Guard 2.

Thurman brings her formidableKill Billaction-film cache toThe Old Guard 2as the ominous Discord, whom the trailer explains is the first of the immortals. And she ain’t happy. Discord is hell-bent on destroying Andy (Theron), and what remains of her team of immortal heroes who are now exposed to the world, for their focus on protecting humanity while, as Discord puts it, “forsaking your own kind.” To do this, Discord rescues the witch-immortal Quynh (Veronica Ngo), who you may remember from the end of the first film when she was locked in an Iron Maiden and sunk to the bottom of the sea for eternity.

You may also remember that Andy was stripped of her immortality, which is going to make all the intense fight sequences even more epic, especially the final standoff between Charlize and Uma.

Adam Sandler, Margaret Qualley, Ben Stiller, Julie Bowen

Everyone’s favorite hockey-player-turned-pro-golfer is heading back to the links to slapshot his way through this sequel to 1996’s hit comedy,Happy Gilmore. Yep, Adam Sandler’s pulled his clubs out of storage to bring back our beloved Happy, but it’s been 30 years and he’s a bit rusty.

Similar to how Happy found his golf mojo helping his elderly grandmother save her house in the first movie, this time Happy is a family man who’ll do anything to finance his teenage daughter Vienna’s (played by his real-life daughter, Sunny Sandler) entry to an elite ballet school. Let the golf tournament commence.

Of course,Happy Gilmore 2is chock-full of returning cast, including Julie Bowen as Happy’s wife Virgina, Kevin Nealon, who reprises his roles as deadpan pro-golfer-turned reporter Gary Potter, Ben Stiller as Hal. L., and Christopher McDonald as Happy’s disgruntled nemesis, Shooter McGavin. Cameos and newcomers to the sequel are nothing to shank a ball at, either, with Travis Kelce, Margaret Qualley, Eric Andre, Bad Bunny, and more pitching in.

Expect all the raunchy language and physical comedy we loved from the firstGilmorefilm (so many golf balls to the groin), plus Sandler’s trademark happy and mushy ending.

For fans of the devilishly dreamy and ethereal fantasy Netflix seriesThe Sandmanthat first penetrated our nightmares in 2022, this is it: the final season of the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s cult-hit comics. For season two, we’re going to get it broken up into two volumes—six episodes that will premiere on July 3, five more on July 24, and then a bonus episode on July 31—which should be enough time to wrap up Dream’s (Tom Sturridge) business in Hell and beyons, right?

After regaining control of his realm at the end of season one, Dream faces all manner of supernatural challenges in the final season, the least of which is contending with Lucifer Morningstar (Gwendoline Christie), who’s coming for Dream with an army of demons, gods, and angels alike after handing him the keys to Hell. No biggie. And that’s not to mention his complicated relationships with his siblings, the Endless—Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), Destiny (Adrian Lester), Destruction (Barry Sloane), Despair (Donna Preston), Desire (Mason Alexander Park), and Delirium (Esmé Creed-Miles)—as well as the return of his long-lost brother, Destruction (Barry Sloane).

With 16 volumes of comics to draw from, there’s a ton of source material to consider, but it’s been widely reported that the final season will include such stories asTales in the Sand,The Song of Orpheus, andA Midsummer Night’s Dream, which includes an appearance by Joffrey Baratheon himself,Game of Thrones' Jack Gleeson, as Puck.
