Samsung has released the fourth One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series, inching the phone closer to a stable release of Android 16. After nearly an entire month without an upgrade, the latest Samsung Galaxy beta is here and packed with bug fixes.
Last week,we reportedthat Samsung could be gearing up to release the fourth and final One UI 8 beta this week. Now, it’s widely rolling out for Galaxy S25 models in the United States, Germany, South Korea, India, and other regions.
The fourth (and potentially final) One UI 8 beta build for the Galaxy S25 series is roughly 1.3GB in size and has the version number S938BXXU5ZYGB/S938BOXM5ZYGB/S938BXXU5BYGB, which varies by region. I woke up to the update on my Galaxy S25+, and many others are experiencing the same early-morning treat.
Only Samsung’sall-new Galaxy Z Fold 7and Flip 7 are running an official version of Android 16, which hit store shelves this week. The Galaxy S25 series and other models are beta testing the fancy new software, but it’s still limited. Samsung’s first Galaxy S25 One UI 8 beta started way back in May, so Samsung has had plenty of time to integrate new features, fix bugs, and prepare for a global launch.
What’s New in the One UI 8 Beta 4?
So far, we’re not seeing a ton of visual overhauls or changes, as this is mainly an update to fix existing problems and make the software stable enough for a wider rollout. However, it does have a slew of bug fixes and tweaks for an improved overall experience. Here’s the changelog on my U.S. model.
As a reminder, those with a Galaxy S25 can fire up theSamsung Members app, enroll in the beta, and try Android 16 and One UI 8 early. you’re able to also manually check for updates in settings or through the Samsung Members app.
Samsung still isn’t giving us clear information about when it will start the official Android 16 release for its phones and tablets. However, given we’re already on the fourth beta, and Google released Android 16 earlier than ever, it should be right around the corner. Once the Galaxy S25 starts getting the official public Android 16 update, other models like the Galaxy S24 should follow suit.
