Samsung has revealed the Galaxy Buds 3 FE as a new pair of affordable true wireless earbuds, complete with ANC support and a more AirPods-like design. You’ll be able to buy a pair for $150 when it becomes available on June 10, 2025 in the United States.

Samsung already has a budget option for earbuds, theGalaxy Buds FE, but the newGalaxy Buds 3 FEis much closer in design and features to the company’s Buds 3 lineup. It now has the same basic stem design as the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro, Apple’s AirPods, and other earbuds. Samsung calls the stem component the “blade,” and you pinch it to make selections or swipe for volume control. The microphone position has also been moved for better voice pickup, and the earbuds have IP54 water and dust resistance.

There are some important upgrades compared to the previous Galaxy Buds FE. It now has larger speakers, which Samsung says will help “deliver rich, powerful sound with deep bass and clear treble.” There’s also active noise cancellation (ANC), which is great to see.

The charging case is also similar to the other Buds 3 models, though there’s no mention of Qi wireless charging support. The usual voice assistant features and AI integration are also present, like “Hey Google” hotword support (which is off by default) and live translation with the Galaxy AI Interpreter app running on the connected phone.

As a fun aside, “FE” has been Samsung’s label for budget flagships for the past few years, most notably for devices like theGalaxy Tab S10 FEandGalaxy S24 FE. The label originated from theGalaxy Note 7 FE, which was the fixed version of Samsung’s infamous Note 7 phone that kept catching on fire and exploding. At that time, the FE label meant ‘Fan Edition,’ but Samsung hasn’t used that full name in years. It’s interesting that a product line that originated with the Note 7 is still around, but product marketing is sometimes strange like that.

Samsung also said in its announcement, “Galaxy Buds3 FE mark a new chapter in expanding the Galaxy Experience. Designed for users who want reliable performance, smart features, and a stylish design at a great value, Galaxy Buds3 FE make it easier than ever to join the Galaxy ecosystem. The earbuds also offer seamless integration with Galaxy devices, including quick access from system settings and app-free control from any screen.”
