Summary
Wouldn’t it be great if the same app and platform you use to open the garage door also worked with security cameras and video doorbells? Well, we have good news if you have a garage door from myQ or another company under the Chamberlain Group. Today, myQ announced its first-ever Video Doorbell and an all-new Outdoor battery-powered security camera.
Like many of you, I control my garage door with a smart home app, but I also have amyQ Smart Garage Video Keypad. However, the rest of my home security is a Blink camera system, meaning I have several different apps to swipe through while checking in on my house. Sure, more and more devices haveMatter support, but not the ones I use.
The most important access point to any home is the garage, and myQ is leading the charge with its smart garage door openers. Now, to make things even better, you may integrate its new video doorbell and outdoor camera into your system for a fully integrated monitoring solution.
In its press release, myQ said, “We’re launching these products to elevate the competitive smart home market. Many of today’s smart home experiences are fragmented, with different apps and learning curves. With myQ, we’re building one unified platform where users can manage their entire home access and monitoring experience.”
The newmyQ Video DoorbellandmyQ battery-powered Outdoor cameraare both $99 and available for pre-order today. Here are a few more details and what owners can expect from the companion app.
The myQ Outdoor camera features 2K video recording, color night vision, and a 360-degree adjustable lens. It’s battery-powered, so installation and battery replacement are a breeze thanks to a magnetically attached camera head unit. Like many outdoor cameras, there’s a motion-activated LED that’ll alert intruders that they’re being recorded, not to mention a built-in spotlight. Again, the new myQ Outdoor Camera is $99.
Additionally, you can add the all-new Video Doorbell to your myQ ecosystem. You can install the new camera wired or wireless using a rechargeable battery, and it offers the same crystal-clear 2K video recording. MyQ says the 150-degree wide-angle lens will ensure no detail, package, or visitor goes unnoticed. With a wired installation, it’ll blend seamlessly with your existing doorbell chime. Then, for those going wireless, the company plans to release a myQ Chime in the near future.
Like most security systems these days, the myQ app works great, but amonthly subscriptionwill benefit you even more. With a subscription, you’ll get features like recorded history, Smart Detection, and customizable settings, among other things. So, pre-order a new myQ camera or video doorbell today, with shipping expected in late June.
