Following an early reveal at CES 2025, LG has now released its Smart Monitor Swing. This is a portable monitor with a long adjustable neck and a massive 32-inch 4K panel.

The monitor has a 32-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS screen. The high resolution and IPS technology provide clear images, bright colors, and deep contrasts, making it great for both work and watching movies or shows. The large screen gives plenty of space for multitasking, so users can easily work with multiple apps at once.

What stood out to me was the Auto Pivot function. This changes the screen orientation automatically based on what’s being displayed. This is helpful for apps that work better in portrait or vertical mode, especially when using webOS. It’s one of the coolest ideas I’ve seen for a monitor like this and is a welcome feature.

One of the unique features is the flexible rolling stand. This lets you adjust the screen angle for any situation, whether you’re lying in bed or sitting at a desk. The stand moves smoothly to fit different work styles and personal preferences. Whether someone is drawing, making music, or just watching a movie, the adjustable stand keeps the screen at the most comfortable angle.

This monitor seems like one of the best ways to have a portable screen that’s not a tablet. It has a built-in touchscreen, so it’s like always having a TV with you. This is the first time a Smart Monitor from LG has included touch controls, but it also comes with built-in speakers, so there’s no need for separate audio devices.

The monitor connects to other devices with a USB Type-C port with 65W power delivery and HDMI ports. This makes it easy to use with laptops, desktops, and other accessories. The 65W power delivery over USB-C is especially useful because it can charge compatible devices directly from the monitor.

The Smart Monitor Swing uses LG’s webOS smart TV platform, which gives access to many work apps and entertainment options. Basically, users can switch between office apps and streaming services without having to use a separate computer. While I wouldn’t say it’s good enough to replace a computer, it’s great for those who don’t want to drag one around to check simple documents quickly.

The LG Switch App also gives extra control for PC users, including the Auto Pivot function for PC mode. The app has tools for better productivity, like customizable split-screen layouts for multitasking. you’re able to adjust monitor settings and manage keyboards and mice through the app. This makes it simple to switch between different tasks.

It’s already available for preorder atB&H Photo and Video, and it has a listing (but it is currently unavailable) atAbt. There’s also a listing onthe official LG website, but you’ll have to press the “Contact” button for pricing and those details.
