Switch to Personal Account

To switch your Instagram account type to personal, head to Settings and Privacy > Business Tools and Controls, and scroll down to “Switch Account Type.”

Why does this work? The Instagram music library is not licensed for commercial use. As a business or creator account user, playing music in your videos and images could result in copyright infringement. If you want to use the Instagram music feature, you need to switch to an Instagram personal account.

Connect to a VPN

If the music feature is still not working, it’s likely unavailable in your region. Although most countries, including the US, UK, India, and Germany, have access to this feature, there are still a few that unfortunately don’t. This happens because Meta needs to secure a licensing agreement with each country to offer the music feature. If no agreement has been made with your country, you won’t have access to this feature on Instagram.

Fortunately, you can use aVPNto work around this limitation. Simply choose a popularVPN serviceand connect to a country where the music feature is available. Once connected, you should be able to enjoy the Instagram music feature on your device.
