Anker’s ultra-portableSOLIX C300 solar generatoris currently 26% on Amazon, bringing the price down to just $220. This power station, which usually sells for $300, is a popular and low-cost solution for travel, outdoor activities, and short power outages.
The SOLIX C300 features a 288Wh capacity and a maximum 600-watt output. It’s packed with ports, including three A/C jacks, a trio of USB-C ports, a single USB 3.0 Type-A port, and a 12V DC car cigarette lighter socket. There’s also an integrated camp light, a handle, and strap connections for over-the-shoulder carrying (straps sold separately).
A solar generator of this capacity can accommodate power-hungry appliances like electric kettles or grills for a little over half an hour. That said, it should be able to power a TV and game console for two or three hours, and it can charge phones, laptops, or other mobile devices dozens of times before it runs out of juice.
We reviewed a cheaper version of this generator, called theSOLIX C300 DC, earlier this year. It proved to be a fantastic companion for camping and travel, as well as an effective solutionduring short power outages. Power stations in this price range don’t have a massive capacity, but they’re far more lightweight, convenient, and affordable than other options. For context, the SOLIX C300 weighs just over nine pounds.
I should note that this generator doesn’t come with a solar panel. It can charge via A/C power, of course, but a solar panel is helpful when you’re outdoors or sitting through a power outage.
