Summary

The arrival of ESPN’s standalone streaming service, dubbed ESPN Unlimited, is only weeks away. A new era of watching sports through ESPN and Disney will launch on Thursday, August 21st, but it won’t come cheap.

Earlier this year, welearned a bit moreabout ESPN’s upcoming streaming service. This all-in-one platform is designed to deliver endless sports content across every ESPN channel, original programming, and more, all for one monthly fee. Just in time for college football and the NFL season, ESPN’s new service launches on August 21st for $29.99 per month.

New ESPN app and streaming service launch date.

If that sounds expensive, that’s because it is. Several streaming services, like Sling TV, Fubo TV, and more, are readily available at relatively affordable prices, and they offer a decent collection of sports. However, if you’re not interested in a bunch of random TV stations and shows, and only want sports, this new ESPN service is for you.

The revamped ESPN app and streaming service will remain separate from ESPN Plus and offer a wide range of sports, including football, golf, WWE, UFC, and more. Theannouncementclaims it’ll deliver upwards of 47,000 live sporting events in its first year, not to mention on-demand content and playback, replays, ESPN Bet, fantasy sports, condensed format games, studio analysis, and original content.

Specifically, those who opt for ESPN Unlimited and pay $30 per month will enjoy the full breadth of ESPN’s sports programming. Some of those include ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network (SECN), ACC Network (ACCN), ESPNEWS, and ESPN Deportes, as well as programming from ESPN on ABC. Then, this full-scale service gets you access to ESPN+, along with ESPN3, SECN+, and ACCNX.

The New ESPN and Disney+ Bundle

The flagship ESPN “Unlimited” plan will be $29.99 per month, while ESPN+ becomes the “Select” plan and remains $11.99 as a more affordable option. However, there will be a number of bundle options with Disney and Hulu. As many of you know, ESPN+ is already available in a lucrative bundle that includes Disney+ and Hulu for one low price. That plan is getting an overhaul to incorporate this new all-in-one streaming service.

A new Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited bundle will be $35.99 per month (with ads) or $44.99 per month (ad-free on select content), replacing the current bundle with even more sports.

If this all sounds a bit confusing, that’s because it is. We have endless streaming services these days, and more keep coming. Either way, if you’re a hard-core sports fan, the new ESPN Unlimited app and service should be right up your alley.
