Set the Same Volume Level in Discord’s Desktop and Phone App
If you use Discord with the same account on your iPhone or Android phone, make sure your mobile app uses the same volume level as your desktop app. If you change your phone’sDiscord volume, that will affect your desktop app’s volume, as Discord syncs your settings across your clients.
What that means is if you’re facing the random volume level issue in your Discord desktop access, access your Discord mobile app and set the volume to the level you’d like on your desktop.
To make that change, open Discord on your phone, tap your profile icon in the bottom bar, choose “Voice,” and set the desired volume level using the “Volume” slider.
Now, launch your Discord desktop app, and you’ll find that your app uses the same volume level as your phone app. You’re all set.
Update Discord on Your Computer
If your Discord audio issue persists, yours may be an old and buggy version of Discord. In this case, update your app to the latest version to fix your issue.

Update Your Windows, Mac, or Linux Version
If your updated Discord app has the same volume problem, your operating system may have an issue. This is especially the case if you’re using an old version of your operating system.

Clear Discord’s Cache Files
Discord stores various temporary files on your computer to enhance your experience in the app. When you face issues in the app, it’s possible these temporary files called the cache have become corrupted. Fixing such files requires clearing your app cache.
You can clear Discord’s current cache files to possibly fix your issue. You won’t lose your account data when you do this, and Discord will re-create these files, uncorrupted, for you.

Reset Discord’s Voice Settings
If Discord still keeps resetting your volume, yourvoice settings in the appmight be faulty or incorrectly specified. If you aren’t sure exactly what option is causing the problem, reset your voice settings to the defaults. This will erase your custom settings and bring back the default app settings.
To do that, launch Discord on your computer and select “User Settings” (a gear icon) in the app’s bottom-left corner. In the left sidebar, select “Voice & Video.” On the right pane, at the bottom, choose “Reset Voice Settings.”
In the prompt that opens, select “Okay” to reset the settings. Then, restart Discord and see if your issue is resolved.
Uninstall and Reinstall Discord
If nothing else fixes your issue, your Discord app itself may be faulty. For such core-level issues, you’ll have to remove and reinstall the app to fix your problem. That will remove the app’s current files and give you working new app files.
Note that you won’t lose your servers, chats, and other data when you remove Discord. The app will sync these items for you when you log back into your account.
Toremove Discord from your Windows 11 PC, head into Settings > Apps > Installed Apps. Next to “Discord,” click the three dots, choose “Uninstall,” and select “Uninstall.”
Todelete Discord on Windows 10, navigate to Settings > Apps. Select “Discord,” click “Uninstall,” and choose “Uninstall.”
If you’re aMac user, open Finder, access the “Applications” folder,right-click"Discord,” and choose “Move to Trash.”
After removing Discord, launch theofficial Discord websiteand download and install the latest version of the app on your computer.
