The Apple Watch Series 10 has arrived. It has a thinner design, new color options, an updated OLED screen, and much more.

This is a surprisingly important update for the Apple Watch. There’s a new option for a larger display, which is even bigger than theApple Watch Ultra. That provides up to 30% more screen area than previous generations, giving you more room for reading text, typing a message, or tapping buttons. It’s also great if you need to make the text larger for easier readability.

The Series 10 has Apple’s first “wide-angle OLED” screen across all models, designed to improve readability when looking at the watch from different angles. Apple says the screen is now “up to 40% brighter” when viewed from an angle, and the ambient watch face is updated once per second instead of once per minute. That means you can finally have watch faces with a seconds hand (or other similar indicator) when not in use.

This generation has a thinner design, with some models coming in at 9.7mm, around 10% thinner than Series 9. There’s also a new metal back with redesigned charging, making this the fastest charging Apple Watch ever. Apple estimates you can get an 80% charge with only 30 minutes of charging.

Apple is also introducing a polished aluminum finish for the first time, with new options for Jet Black, Rose Gold, and Silver Aluminum. There are also titanium options.

Notably, the new Apple Watch models are missing blood oxygen monitoring, as Applestill hasn’t resolved a patent dispute with Masimo. The feature has been removed from all Apple Watch models sold since late 2023, but remains available on models sold before that date.
